Invited to see the Morrissey Guitar shop, I was expecting craftsmanship and intrigue, but not to buy a guitar. All that changed when I met Patrick Morrissey. The depth of passion in this craftsman and the artistic talent he shared in his guitar building moved me deeply.
I was allowed to play his models, interview him about his art and why he chose guitar building and inspect the myriad world-wide woods he had from which to choose. He watched my play, was highly attentive to my style and shared guitar building specs without pressure.
I could not resist the rare opportunity to purchase a guitar from this artist who not only loved his work, but also was so attentive to me. I came back to the shop to see the progress bringing 7 family members with me. They had the same feeling about Patrick Morrissey and were duly impressed with his meticulous shop.
When I picked up my new guitar in December, I was invited into the Morrissey home and there on the living room couch in a strong steel and leather case, further protected by a quilted jacket was the absolutely precious instrument.
It brought me to tears. Gorgeous wood combinations rich in tone and sound were further enhanced by a Celtic knot pattern adorning the guitar hole and body. An open carved shamrock provided a sound hole in the side and personalization that reflected my taste.
Easy to hold, light in weight but rich in sound, the guitar has become my friend. Daily I am practicing hoping only to do it justice.
For those whom music is the language of the soul, and who treasure a guitar of elegance, I invite you to visit Patrick Morrissey and his wife Maggie who add so much joy and art in their craft and business. I cannot thank them enough.

It is the guitar I wanted and needed but didn’t think I would find. The Grand Concert guitar you built for me is simply stunning … it has a remarkable sensitivity and fantastic sustain, yet I can get it to snap and growl on hardcore blues pieces. I couldn’t be happier with it!

An amazing guitar! I love the playability and tone of this guitar.

I can’t say enough about the guitar! I am loving it. It’s my go-to guitar all the time. I have four other acoustics, they are gathering dust! Good guitars, but can’t compare to the sound of my Morrissey.
